Hi Livrinho,.
Are you running the .exe file that was downloaded, directly to do the setup? If you tried to use a utility such as WinZip or WinRar
on it to extract the files that can cause problems. The CD image stored in the .exe doesn't always come out 'correctly' when you do
that. These steps may help by extracting the CD image from the download.
Use this method to unpack the MS Office 2007 .exe download to a CD or a folder on your hard drive:
===========
1. Use Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup
clear your Internet files and temp files.
2. Locate your 2007 Office Professional Beta 2
download file and note the folder/path location.
3. Create a new folder on your PC and note that
folder/path location.
4. Use Start=>Run , and on a single line type in
the following (using the path & file names from Step 2 & 3)
and leaving out the brackets
"drive:\Step2PathOfDownload\downloadfilename.exe" /extract:"Step3path"
example: (assuming you saved to a 'downloads' folder and created a new folder named Off2007ProB2CD1) the Start=>Run line would look
like this
"c:\downloads\OPPLUS-EN.EXE" /extract:"C:\Off2007ProB2CD1"
If the extraction is successful (you'll get a dialog box telling you it was after a few minutes) then run setup from your new 2007
Office folder. (Be sure to backup your files and shutdown all other
running apps including antivirus software before starting 2007 Office setup)
If the extraction doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted.
Use Start=>Run and type
%temp%
and locate the Setup-xxxxx.log
(file) just created and see if it has any clues on where the extraction failed.
Post back with the results please.

Thx for helping.
That's what i have been doing.
I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 in English.
During install i have configure my personal zone settings: Portugal -
Portuguese (including keyboard).
This is not the first time i had this message. The software OneCare gave the
same error. But they said that only for english test. So i ignore.
Now, with Office 2007 Beta, i've tested both configuration: English - United
States (including English keyboard) and
English - United States (including Portuguese keyboard)
Always the same error
"The language of this installation package is not supported by your system"
thx in advance

Hi Livrinho,English
Office 2007 is 'language neutral' (i.e. the product has no 'native' language, not even English. :) All languages, including
are add-on packs, the downloads for English, French, Spanish and German, for example are just packagings for convenience. What
happens if you change the regional settings in the control panel temporarily to English and try to run setup?
(This error sometimes occurs from a corrupted download file that may need to be extracted first).
