Re: Installing Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB905756)

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Couple of thoughts.

1) Download the updates manually and apply them. If they fail, you can
review the log files in the temp folder to get an idea as to why.

or

2) Uninstall/Reinstall Office 2003. When you reinstall Office 2003, apply
Office 2003 SP2 and then try reapplying the updates. (When reinstalling
Office 2003, do not delete the setup files at the end in order to maintain
the local installation source files [means you don't need the cd to patch or
add/remove features].)

This update has repeatedly fails to install and I have no idea why.
These two updates also fail to install with no error message:
"The following updates were not installed:
Installing Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB905756)(update 2 of 3)...
failed!
Installing Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB913161) (update

2 of 3)... failed!
Installing Update for Outlook 2003 (KB913807)(update 3 of 3)...
failed!"

I do not use an antispy or antivirus program (on a constant basis, that

is).
I can't find anything to pin down the problem here.
Can someone help

.
