I tried that - I was afraid to exit Outlook with my calendar missing,
and couldn't copy the .pst file because it was in use. So finally I
crossed my fingers and exited. When I came back in, all my data were
there (from Exchange???). I have no idea what happened when I told
it to clear off-line.
