You're welcome. Also BTW, just for completeness, although I haven't
tried it, someone on the Win2K NG responded by suggesting that I could
have done:

net stop spooler
net start spooler

instead of rebooting the PC after deleting the document from the queue.
I think that there's also an spooler item in Services that I could have
stopped/started.
