When posting to more than one group, do a cross-post, not a multi-post. To
cross post, put all the newsgroups addresses on the same line separated by a

You will need to backup the files no matter what you do. It is always a
likelihood doing anything as intensive as a repair or upgrade it could fail.
They should have the information backed up anyway.
