Re: How do I install office 2000 on a brand new laptop?

Look like you missed my april 1st post where I suggested :

Do you have access to a CD writer ? If so, try to make a "copy disk"
operation with the burning software you have.

If you do not have a CD writer, try to copy the CD to your hard drive. To
do so:

1) put the Office CD on your drive, and cancel the installation program that
fires.

2) open "My Computer", right click on your CD drive letter and choose "open"
from the context menu. In the window that will open, select "Edit / Select
All", then "Edit / Copy". You can now close that window.

3) open "My documents" folder and create a new folder (File / New /
Folder). You may rename it if you wish. Double click on that new folder to
open it. Now chose "Edit / Paste" from that window's menu.

In any case, if you get an error message about a file that can't be read,
chances are that your Office CD is defective. You may try the same thing on
a second computer just to make sure the problem is not caused by a devective
CD reader.

Hope this helps !

PS: I verified on my CD that the
"D:/PFiles/Common/MSshared/artgalry/QARTGLRY.HLP" file exists.
