If you've got WinXP SP 2 installed, right-click on the
desktop, go to Properties > Appearance > Effects and change
the second drop down box from "Standard" to "ClearType".
Apply/OK your way out.
Notice first of all how you can now set the screen
resolution to the highest possible setting and still read
the text. (I can even read it without my glasses for dog's
sake.)
Now open a Word document and highlight some text. Notice the
not-so-pretty colors.
Could somebody fix this please? I LOVE ClearType.
(Note: I'm using a CRT not a LCD monitor. I know,
ClearType's intended for LCD; but on CRT it really gives you
a buzzzzz.)
