Similar question to josie's of 3/5/04, with a twist....
I do end-of-week and end-of-month backups of company financial files and documents by just burning the appropriate directories to CD. I then have to restore them to a "supervisory" computer in another location to allow for research/report activity by another person. We're talking a file-count range in the HUNDREDS.
My experience has been - obviously - that just copying them back to a HD leaves them in a read-only status. Is there any procedure (or software application) wherein the original Attribute Status is saved as part of the burn - and then restored when the file is copied back to another HD?
Thanks! - and an e-mail reply would be handy, as I seem to have a hard time finding my way back to these discussion group "chapters"!
