Re: Installation/Registration Problem

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

The last time i checked, depends came with visual studio 6.
There is a 3rd party here http://www.dependencywalker.com/
MSDN bundles depends here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=49AE8576-9BB9-4126-9761-BA8011FABF38&displaylang=en

is there anything to the regsvr32 owc11.dll run line?
No, but you will need to be in the same directory where owc11.dll is. After
you run it you get a prompt indicating success or failure. If fail, run
depends. For every red line in the depends utility, register that component.

Thank you Alvin:

Do I need Deveopler Tools for the depends.exe? Or is this already in the
system?

I have downloaded the OWC11.exe upgrade from Microsoft, I used the remove
programs from control panel to remove the older version that was installed
and I deleted the folder where all the older version files were.

is there anything to the regsvr32 owc11.dll run line?

Thank you

The owc dll is part of one of the cab files so it should be installed.
Maybe
you have a corrupted cab. Another option is to download the trial version
or
sql server or the developer version. It contains the owc setup pack.

Thinking about it, one of the dependencies for the OWC must be missing.
You
can run the depends.exe tool from MSDN on owc11.dll after you have
installed
or copied it to the local machine.

Corporate installation of Office Professional 2003, service pack 2.

Web based application returns message, "Requires Microsoft Web
Components".

Have installed and reinstalled with the repair option OWC10 - no luck

Just downloaded and installed OWC11 - no luck

did a search of this forum which suggested "registering component"

tried to run "regsvr32 owc11.dll"

returns message cannot find file

I have search entire hard drive and cannot find "OWC*.dll"

Can someone assist with resolution to the problem, I am ever
appreciative.

Thank you in advance.
