Thanks for the info for not touching the older version of Office. The newer
version (2007)will not work. Now, I get that it is not enough disk space
memory to run word 2007. In compliance to your suggestion, I continued to
the next step and got this message "This installation package could not be
open. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact
the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer
package." However, I recently found the web site for Office 2007 Beta 2
Technical Refresh (B2TR) and re-downloaded,which resulted to a message
"update already exist." I hope I am not becoming a pest. I am still want
the application to work or either at least have the ability to remove it.
Then reinstall the application if necessary. I used the older version of beta
2003 and was very satisfied. Is Microsoft beta team planning to develop a fix
patch for the problem I and maybe others are experiencing? What do I need to
do to resolve this problem?
Thanks,
Demetris

If the msiexec.exe /x stuff isn't working after you tried it for all.
MSIs in question, move on to the next step.
The rule for installing two Office versions is that you install the
older one first. After the newer one is installed, don't touch the setup
of the older one anymore while the new one is on the computer. If you do
it the other way around, things won't work and you'll make a huge mess
out of your computer.

Hi Patrick,
I don't know what to do now. I performed a system restore as suggested and
results were no changes to the computer. When I tried to use the steps for
un-installing the software using "misexec.exe/x", I got the message that I
needed to use the original source or installation CD to repair the software.
There has to be away to repair and remove the beta software. Can you explain
why not to use the set up software for Office 2003. When I try to use Office
2007 now I get the message that says not enough disk space to run the
application. What other options are there to try?

I'd suggest you use System Restore and get your system back to the date
before you installed the compatibility pack and Office 2003. Then you
might even have a working B2TR.

I was unsuccessful at using the removal steps. First when typing
"msiexec.exe/x" I got an error message stating the file cannot be found. Then
proceeded to the next step using the right click for my computer and found
none of the registry keys. I think what may work best for me is remote access
and let a Microsoft Technician perform the removal or repair patch,is that
possible? Knowing my situation how will the release on December 1 effect my
system. Should I unistall Office 2003?

I am unable to use beta Office 2007 plus. For some reason I can not get the
Application to open previous versions of office files. I have installed the
compatiablitiy pack and files still will not open. In the mean time I
reinstalled Office 2003 in order to have the ability to use email and compose
letters. Attempts have been made to un-install the software. When doing so, I
get a message stating the software is corrupt and need to reinstall from
original source or an application disk. The soft was download and I can no
longer get back to the Beta refresh web site for orginal source. When tryiing
to reinstall by using the software save to my hard drive, I get the message
that says the update is already on the computer. Can someone assist in
providing a solution for un-installing the corrupt version? The add/remove
application will not uninstall the version of Office Professional Plus 2007
beta 2. I have run out of options. Help !!
