    Hi Mike,

I think you are right about using templates for this kind of stuff.
If I undestood you correctly, you want to be able to conduct full text
search from a database and then dynamically create a Word doc from a user
selected record. Is this correct? What other requirements are present?

    Alex.

generating word documents from content stored in a database. A
tried-and-tested method that I have used previously is generating them from
scratch using the RTF specification model. However, I'd prefer to use smart
documents instead, inserting content into pre-made word templates. This is
because the client will need to make changes to the template occasionally.
If you have experience in developing smart documents, then I will be pleased
to hear from you to help me in this venture.
