Public calendar form used to send calendar event

Hello,
Here is my situation, I have a public calendar which is used to
maintain my consulting team - so I have a clue where they are on any
given day.
They are able to book their own engagements, but other members of the
company are able to book engagements for them as well.
Presently, when the form is submitted it adds an entry to the public
calendar and sends out an e-mail to the consultant. The problem is then
that the consultants need to check back to the public calendar often or
try to keep track of the emails that are sent to them.
Is there a way to take the information that is submitted when creating
the public calendar event and send (as an attachment) an iCalendar/ics
to the e-mail recipient?
Thank you is advance...
.
