i have just read about custom form regions after reading your reply. you are
absolutely right. my add-in is only targetting Outlook 2007 so this is the
way to go for me. so far, i am finding this an excellent resource for
learning about custom forms:

That's normal and expected behavior. Tell us more about your custom form
scenario. It might be appropriate for a custom form region, a new feature in
Outlook 2007.

i am having a problem when i try to design a form in outlook 2007 using an
existing Contact form.
whenever i make the slightest alteration, the form turns old-style grey
when
i run it. yet if i leave the form untouched and run it, it shows the 2007
blue background and styles OK.
is this a beta issue, or am i missing something?
