Re: Business Contact Manager

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

1) No. BCM was originally designed for individual, personal use, not shared use. Microsoft has a separate CRM application designed for group use.

2) Yes, with some effort. See http://blogs.officezealot.com/cardoza/archive/2004/05/12/652.aspx

FYI, there is a separate newsgroup for BCM issues -- microsoft.public.outlook.bcm.

I don't think this isn't the greatest place to post this question, but it
seemed better than some others. We are a small nonprofit running SBS, w
exchange, office 2003 and SQL Server.

I just installed Business Contact Manager, which may be a big help for us to
manage the care and feeding of our members. However, I have two questions:

1) can I put the database on our SQL server, so its not running on someones
desktop. That seems short sighted since if that computer dies, the database
is gone gone gone. Our SBS premium came with SQL Server, so its up and
running all the time, is backed up and everyone should have access to it all
the time.

2) Can I add custom fields to a Business Contact manager form?

I also have some questions in regards to customizing journal forms but I
think i'll post that in another thread.

Thanks.
