Re: search for text in MS word doc without opening the doc?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?S2hvcw==?=,

I am struggling to find out if it is possible to search for text in MS word
doc without opening the doc?

That depends on how the document has been saved. If it's saved in Word's
proprietary, binary file format then the answer is No, you can't.

(Although there are tools created using C++ that can do so. But the specs for
the binary file format aren't being supplied by Microsoft since the release of
the XML file format. So it's not possible for you to recreate this.)
