Some third party may have a plugin to make current WMPs play Real
media, but I do not know for sure because I have Real player and have
not researched this. I did not find Real much trouble to download.
Just make sure you download the free version and do not accept any
free trial offers that you might have to cancel before the trial time
is up. Also with any player, do not make it the primary player for all
files it will play unless you really want to do this. Real 11 will
play a lot of files including Microsoft ones.
There is an alternative player for Real audio and video files that
some use at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm .
I have not used this, but know others who do not like the official
Real Players sometimes use it. A Google search might turn up other
alternative players for Real media files.
