An example site for this is:

http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/live_tv.html

The streaming video will not play because Version 6.4 is being used
instead of WMP Version 11.0. How can I get Version 11.0 to be used
instead of the old Version 6.4?

Note, other than this streaming problem WMP 11 works fine on my
computer.

I have the Windows XP home OS with sp2 and nearly all updates. I have
WMP 11 and the old 6 version as do many other computers, although
there often is not a shortcut for the 6 version on the desktop if you
have a higher version of WMP installed. I find that if I go to the url
you give, the NASA video is played on WMP 11 using IE6 and recent
Firefox, SeaMonkey, Opera, and Safari for Windows browsers. However if
you instead first open WMP 11 and under file enter the url you give,
the video does not play and you get a message that the WMP 11 could
not find one or more codecs needed for playing. This is very strange,
and I do not know what to make of it. If I open the WMP 6 and enter
the url, you just get a message that the video can not be played on
it. On the new Real 11 beta player, if you open it and enter the url
of your video, the video will play. The video will not play on most of
my other several players.

If someone can not suggest anything that works for you within a few
days, you might download the free Real 11 beta and see if it will work
for the NASA video on your computer.
