Re: Convert WMA files to MPG

I have ripped some of my CD's to my laptop using WMPlayer.

I have just noticed that the files are copy protected but think I can deal
with that (am only leaving them on this one laptop anyway)...my problem is
that I wish to convert these to mp3 for possible transfer to an mp3 player at
a later stage (that can only play mpg format).

Can anyone help advise how to do this? If possible using standard MS products.

You can always *re-*Rip them in MP3 format. See Tools -> Options... ->
Rip Music -> Format:.

But that probably is not neccessary if you *Sync* the files instead of
*copying* them *and* your device 'advertises' what format(s) it can
handle. See Sync -> <select device> -> Advanced Options... -> Quality ->
make sure that "Convert music ... as required by this device
(recommended)" is ticked. Click Help on that window to see what is
expected of the device (MTP, Media Transfer Protocol)) for the
conversion to be done automatically.
