Re: Diskcopy an audio CD.

Yes to the first question. I ripped an audio CD to mp3 files and then
"burnt" it back to a CD audio disk. When you press the Burn button in WMP
you have the choice of burn formats... press the tiny arrow at the bottom of
the Burn button.

I can't remember the order when I burned it. You may also need to have WMP
go online to get the actual tract title. In my case that information wasn't
available so I simply had track1 through track 10 listed... no song titles.
Order didn't matter so I just burned it. I do suggest burning at the slowest
speed possible to insure playability across all CD players.

Thank you for your response, John.

Two questions; Does your process convert the tracks back to .cda format?
And does the cd then play those track in a regular cd player, in the same
order as the original cd?

Thank you
Chuck

I think he wants to make a copy directly, not rip and then burn.
Unfortunately the only way I have made a copy (WMP11) was to rip the CD to
mp3 tracks and then use those mp3 files to burn an audio CD. A bit
cumbersome but I'm sure there's a good reason or, more likely, I don't
know how to do it (make a direct copy)

I like to protect my audio collection by making a copy of the cd for my
car and keeping the bought cd at home where at cannot get stolen or
damaged.

Is there a simple and/or free program that will allow me to do this? Or
is there a way to do this in Windows XP Media Center?

Thank you
Chuck
