Re: why is WMP 11 playing my AVI file as an audio file?

Hi Kelvin,
different encoders can produce avi files
You may not have te respective decoder. Most likely you try to play DivX
file
To find out (for this and any file) get identification Tool and needed
Video/Audio codecs here
home: http://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm
identification (for example Gspot):
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/GSpot.htm
and if file(s) you have needs DivX than FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder
2007-07-29 contains it
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm
or just download DivX codec only from
http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/
There are other options but I think it will be enough for now
Regards
