Try View | Enhancements | Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling. Turn on the Auto Volume Leveling - I believe this will work for MP3 and WMA files.

I've downloaded several hundred songs from various CD albums to WMP 11,
but now find that the individual songs play back at greatly different volumes.

Is there a way to "standardize" the playback volume?
