Thanks
I would not normally use WMA but I used it by mistake then realised I could
not use WMA format in most mp3 players.
Will I lose quality re riping from a burn CD?

Hi Sk,.
You probably know that but as a reminder: you loose quality converting from
converted file. So It will be better to re-rip file(s). And if you want to
experiment with encoding it is better to rip wav and keep it as a source
which will be encoded into different formats (mp3, ogg etc.) and/or
different settings for any given format.
Saying that I would never use WMP for ripping/burning. No further comments
here.
The following are some links to free software which will do a proper job.
Many prefer Audiograbber as far as I know. I have a few professional audio
editing packages which I use for ripping so I personally can not give you
100% sure advice - you decide.

PS
wma by itself is fine but it is better to use MS Encoder 9 Series for
converting
