No Speakers in WMP10

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

I use Windows Media Player 10

When I click : Tools, Options, Devices, Speakers, Properties

I get no AUDIO DEVICE IN USE, there is a gray display, and no choices
available.

Although I have an installed device - Realtek AC97 Audio.

The windows media player does not function properly. I can't even play MP3
or WAV files. ( I can play these files with other programs such as real
player )

Any suggestions how to fix this problem ?

Thanks

Dan
