I posted this 3 weeks ago - no reply; it seems odd that such a BASIC feature should be missing from such a sophisticated program as WMP, but I am still unable to find out whether you can and if so, how - so does anyone know the scoop on this?
This is likely not a mediaplayer problem, this is much more likely to be a Windows or hardware problem. The CD drive is simply failing to tell Windows that the CD has been changed .. try it with a different CD drive if you have one (an external USB drive maybe), or see if you can replicate the problem using data CD and Explorer.
Check all the device manager and properties entries for the drive and the controller that it's attached to. What do you have set for the 'default action' for the drive (if any). What OS?
