This is just to thank everyone for trying to help. Still can't get Media
Player to play my Midis, so I installed RealPlayer; with the same result - it
was obviously 'Playing' the Midi but with no sound! I wanted RealPlayer for
the BBC anyway.
However, when trying to get it to play some other file format, I was
instructed to download an upgrade to RealPlayer from the Internet. On this
install, I then found I could play the Midi files!
So, although Windows Media Player obviously has a problem with these files
(it says it can cope with them, but obviously it can't!) my immediate problem
is solved.
Again, thank you all anyway.
