    OK -
I found a tidbit of info on MS website which states that Recording CD to
disk cannot be done through remote terminal session - and since I use Remote
Desktop Connection to manage this "headless" server - that would explain
it.. But now one other question....

I put WMP in the startup folder so that it starts on boot.
Check marks in WMP options to automaticially record CD when inserted
    and..
Check mark by "eject when complete"

    But still it doesn't work.

What is the rationale behind to recording through remote terminal server
    session....

    and.

howcome, even with no Remote terminal session up, it won't record? Does WMP
know whether there is keyboard, mouse and monitor connected in order to
    record to disk????

    Crazy
