WMP9 Will not play some AVI's

I have just got an older digital camera, when I record an avi, I can replay
it on the camera and tr5ansfer it to my PC, the pc see's it as an avi but
when I try to play it wmp9 loads and the play progress bar moves along the
bottom but I get no picture.
The camera is a couple of years old, but the pc plays all other avi's
Any ideas?
