Hi there,

I'm thinking of getting some new speakers however the Creative Inspire 5700s
I'm looking at only have 4 channel analogue in so I'll be wanting to connect
them to my S/PDIF port.

So, when I watch DVDs I know the Dolby Digital or DTS sound can be relayed
through my S/PDIF out. And when I play stereo files (eg. MP3s) a stereo
signal (PCM I guess?) is sent through the S/PDIF - I've tested that with my
MiniDisc player.

BUT if I play a 6ch WMA9 file, then will I still get a sound through the
S/PDIF that my speakers will understand?

Many thanks for any help!
Chris Paton
