Option A (assumes player skin present on monitor, just no video showing up):
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#projector
Option B (assumes you want to "split" the skin/video):
Use a skin that does that. You can probably find my
A_Tribute_To_Megaman.wmz skin if you check the net - that does this.

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.

That really sounded promising but I wasn't able to get it to work. Even
tried it on an XP machine. I also tried to right click but only got the
audio controls, no move option. When I hit the alt-space all it did was
bring up the playback controls on the bottom.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but...
Here's one way to get a video fullscreen on one monitor & the WMP window
on
the other monitor. When WMP renders fullscreen it actually just draws a
large frameless window over the current window. So here's a hacky and
ghetto
trick.
Open the playlist that you want to playback & start playing
Switch to fullscreen
Alt+Space to bring up the window menu
Down once to Activate the "Move" option
& move the window out from under the fullscreen.
Move that window to the other monitor.
Quick way to enable dual mon on a laptop: Use Windows+X. That will open
mobility center & give you a quick option to do so.

thanks for the explanation on the Direct X in Vista. Makes more sense
to me
now! I 'm getting the finger pointing with NVidia. If you happen to
know or
find out if WM11 on Vista still provides the screen for the secondary
display
that would be great! I also found out that Sony customizes the NVidia
driver
for their machines; this could be part of the problem. Nvidia does have
a
recent software update for this graphic card but it will not load
because of
the Sony customizations. They tell me any graphic card updates need to
be
supplied directly from Sony. I don't like that process! Seems I need
to sit
tight for now and hope I get that much needed function back!

Agreed, a little. I didn't notice the line with WMP11/Vista, I just
read the part about WMP10 (and so, XP) - sorry for misunderstanding.
Vista has an updated display model which is more reliant on DirectX
drivers (I believe) so the only available setting is to turn on or
off
the DXVA (DirectX video acceleration) setting.
You may find that also has side effects on the Aero window
decorations
(i.e. the window transparency and other effects in Vista desktop)
Possibly there would be similar settings supplied by the setup for
your display under the Graphics Card driver software - right click
the
desktop, choose Personalise -> Display Settings (down the bottom of
the popup window) -> Advanced Settings
The reason the exibitor program won't work is that I'm------------------------------------------------
doing dj and windows media suits my needs better for video and
music.
besides the add on is very cumbersome to work with a large video
library.
Can't understand what happened to the window for the second display,
thought
that was automatic. I'm going to try and chase down the graphic
card path
with Nvidia.

Current config is
WM11
Vista Prem
NVIDA geoforce 8400M gt 256mb dedicated (latest drivers)
HDMI output to HD TV
I have the dual display selected (can see the desktop background
on the TV),
tried all the settings. I can't find the video overlay in WM11
settings to
Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Advanced is where the overlay
settings are configured.
tun them off I downloaded the exibitor add on but that will not
suit my
needs
Why not ?
It sounds exactly suited for the application you described
above...
