BIG DAZ: Came across your post as I was searching for advice before putting
all my songs on an external hard drive. Did you ever resolve your problem?
I'm using XP Pro and would hate to end up with the problem you defined in
your post.
Cheers, don.

Using Media Player 11 on XP HOME EDITION. I had a library full of music.
previously on Player 11 which I also had saved to my external hard drive. Had
to use re-store disc 2 days ago due to other issues and now, after
re-installing everything, including downloading ver. 11, I cannot seem to
play any of the 'saved' music on the external drive. I have tried moving it
into the media library but even after moving it still won't play. All I get
is a couple of jumpy clicks and it moves to the next track of the album
before doing the same! I have actually ripped another CD onto the library
which was not previously on it or indeed, on the external drive and THIS ONE
works fine.
I only use the player to listen to music whilst working in my office and I'm
at my wits end because I'm not great with IT issues but I have tried
everything but to no avail. All I want is to play my music but it seems
increasingly likely that I will have to rip all the CD's onto my system again
despite already having them on the external drive.
I have tried 'adding to library' from the actual player and it has searched
and found the files but once onto the library, nothing but the clicks and
jumps. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
