Re: PC to TV Connection...

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Check the laptop instruction manual to see what you have to do to set tv
out, usually it is a function key, F5 I think, but not always.
Also, some laptops have what looks like an s-video out, but it is in fact a
slightly different tv out port and uses different connections needing a
special cable.

The screen resolution did not work correctly. As I recall it extended
off
the screen. There are different versions of HDMI so that might have
something to do with it. Or maybe it was just shoddy graphic card
drivers.

From what I am reading HDMI appears to be the way to go. If you don't
mind me asking...What kind of problems where you running into. For the
record, I will be using a pretty strong desktop and not a laptop

Thanks for your response.

In order of quality (highest to lowest, as I undertand it): HDMI, DVI,
Component, VGA, S-Video, Composite.

I've had problems getting HDMI to display correctly on my LCD HDTV
using
a laptop with HDMI-out. Ended up having to use VGA.

What kind of connection should I use to get the best quality picture
when connecting a PC to a 50 inch LCD HD TV? I just wanted to get
some
feedback before I make the plunge.

TIA,

-Greg
