Media Player playing partial track Vista

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I'm running Vista Business on my desktop with the media library stored
on a drive on my server running server2k3. Often Media player will
start playing a track and then skip to the next track in the middle of
the song. The skip happens anywhere from 10 sec to a minute or more
into the song.

I don't have this problem on any of the other computers that use the
server for music. It's a wired network. Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks
.
