Re: windows media player won't open videos

It doesn't play here, either, although it uses standard WMA and WMV
codecs. If you go to the player and do File ->Open URL with this link

http://media-virginmedia-movies.mymovies.net/filmmedia/film/fid5062/trailers/trid2836/wm/bb.asf

Does it play then ? There seems to be nothing wrong with the stream,
and everything wrong with the web page used to deliver the stream
you've linked below.

It makes a request like this :

/player/asx/asx_output.asp?url=/film/fid5062/trailers/trid2836/wm/high.asx&filmid=5062&partner=virgin

However that returns a HTML (web page) and the player is expecting
either movie data, or a playlist - it gets neither and cannot
interpret the result designed for a web browser (since it's not a web
browser, it's a media player !)

Please post a single web page address where this is reproducible.

I don't have time to search the site for whicever videos page you're
seeing, and in any case there are likely to be too many differently
formatted videos there for me to check each one to see if it's the
one(s) you're having trouble with !

Which videos or web page, where ? Please cut+paste a typical link to a
page where the video doesn't display, from your browsers address bar.
