Strangely, that error is "Needs Individualization", which is exactly what
you are trying to do. What new software did you install recently? Any
WMP/DRM updates?
If you try this again, do you still get that same message? Because if so
that's reallllly odd.

OK - I had the same problem as the other two folks . . . I did what you
just
specified and the contents of the wmsetup.log were:
-----------------------------
[*WMC Logging begun at 2007/04/01 - 16:41:25. Logging at level: '4'. OS
is
NT. OSVer is 5.1.2600.0.2945. System Lang is 1033. Prev version system is
11.0.5721.5145. Setup version 11.0.5721.5146.]
Indiv returned '0xc00d2728'.
Current command line: '/PerformIndiv'.
-------------------------------
What does that mean?
Thanks.

If you rename the file c:\windows\wmsetup.log , then run exactly:
c:\windows\inf\unregmp2.exe /PerformIndiv
, what are the contents of c:\windows\wmsetup.log then?

Hey,
I've got the same problem with the Security Component Upgrade. I did as
you
said and tried to add it to Trusted sites and restarted the browser but
it's
still grayed out. I'm using WMP11 and have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling and I've still had no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

If I remember correctly from when I analyzed that page more closely,
the
things that can cause that button to be grayed out are the wrong
version
of
WMP (7.0 or earlier) - probably not an issue, or not being able to run
the
javascript that should enable the button. Make sure your browser is
configured to allow javascript. Make sure you open the site in IE 6
or
later, not Firefox or Mozilla or any other alternative browser.
If none of the above solves the problem, try adding the site to your
trusted
sites zone by clicking Tools->Internet Options and then go to the
Security
tab. Click Trusted Sites in the box at the top and then click the
Sites
button. Add the update site you're on to that list. You may have to
restart
the browser to see if it helps.
Let us know if any of this helps or not.

When I get to the site the Upgrade button is grayed out. Any ideas?
