Re: General Question - Music files located on network or client?

Can you play them in other players?

I've got similar issues. Here's the background.

1) Installed Vista Ultimate
2) Installed 2 new NAS drives
3) Moved all music files (mp3) to NAS drive
4) Added folder location to WMP

At this point, WMP 'sees' all the files (6000+) but when it's all said and
done, only actually adds about 30-40 to the library. In addition, of the
files it adds, it does NOT play any of them.

I tried to copy a few of the songs to C: and it still doesn't play them.

Does the local WMP not find the files, or does it not *share out* the
networked files?

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
