I've got similar issues. Here's the background.
1) Installed Vista Ultimate
2) Installed 2 new NAS drives
3) Moved all music files (mp3) to NAS drive
4) Added folder location to WMP
At this point, WMP 'sees' all the files (6000+) but when it's all said and
done, only actually adds about 30-40 to the library. In addition, of the
files it adds, it does NOT play any of them.
I tried to copy a few of the songs to C: and it still doesn't play them.

Does the local WMP not find the files, or does it not *share out* the
networked files?

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.

OK, I have the same problem. I have purchased a Plextor NAS (PX-EH40L). I
am
not sure which operating system the NAS runs.
I curently WMP 10 and it works fine. WMP 10 finds all the music I have
stored on my NAS. Then I tried to upgrade to WMP 11 and no music were
found.
Then I downgraded again and now everything works fine.
I am currently running Windows XP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Let's start with you explaining which version of media player you
have, and what this network drive is exactly. Then perhaps fill us in
on whether your problem is on an XBox, if you are trying to do this on
windows server 2003, or which other OS you're using ;-)
That'd be a great help.

Thought I would start a post asking people if they have their music
files on
a network storage device/PC or if they have it located on their
client PC?
Network.
Also, does WMP locate all your music files?
Yes.
I'll start:
- Files located on Network Storage Device (NAS)
- All MP3s and some WMAs not added in Library by WMP
