Re: Library/Now Playing click behaviour

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi Steven,

I was also a big fan of the double click to add to now playing list, and I'm
baffled as to why they would have removed this feature.

I know we can right click, add to playlist, but surely there has to be a way
to get the double click to work as it did in WMP10.

Have you had any luck finding a solution?

Hi Steven,

GOOD LUCK finding a solution, Was very fond of this feature also. Spent
ages on Google and haven't found anything.

Apparently there is a variable which still exists to change the
behavior as some users found when updating their Media Player, the
behavior of the double click has retained their user preferences..
Personally, I think these people are liars, I have found that my media
player defaulted back to one click to add the entire search results.
What are Microsoft thinking? I mean, One click to add your 10,000 mp3
collection to now playing list.

Anyway, good luck finding this variable, I don't know where to start
looking, Registry? or Application Data? No idea. I have looked around
the actual program and there was nothing obvious. For now, I have given
into right click> Add to> Now Playing.

Despite this small inconvenience, I am very happy the way WMP 11 looks
after the media files and think its a great improvement over WMP10. But
unfortunately, the search continues/ or simply waiting for Microsoft to
give us techies the freedom our own click actions!

What ever you do, Don't migrate to iTunes, Hated the lack of features
and simple user design, it completely re-organised my collection into
separate folders for each media file. Bad iTunes.

Hi,

Windows Media Player 11 has been pushed onto my laptop by our company IT
policies some days ago, so I am a somewhat forced user.

I was a huge fan of the fact you could adapt the click behaviour in the
library: I had set it to 'add to now playing list upon double click' in
WMP10. this was a very efficient way to use the player.

I found out this functionality is missing from WMP11!! I know I can drag the
items to the list, but double clicking irrevertably sends all items currently
showing in the library to the now playing list... why oh why???

Is there any way to enable the click behaviour functionality in WPM11 as it
was in WMP10???

Thanks in advance,
Steven
