If you rename the "Media Player" folder that the WMDB file is stored in and
*then* restart the player (with NO Media Player folder present there), can
WMP then recover?

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.

Sorry to double post. It keeps deleting the database every time I open the
player. I've tried to rename it but it doesn't reconize the new name.

Well, I don't know the exact solution for your problem but zach's site,
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html, has instructions for deleting and
rebuilding
your database.
The lesson, though, is to make sure your CD drives are set up to NOT
autorun. Never ever run software provided on a music CD even if it
means
losing features. Put the CD in your PC, rip the audio tracks, put the
CD
away and never let it near your PC again.
Remember that, at least here in the United States, our Congress has
made it
perfectly legal for the RIAA and music publishers to hack your pc and
to
install software on your pc without your permission or knowledge to
ensure
you're only listening to music they think you should be allowed to
listen
to. There has already been more than one case, including the Sony root
kit,
of such software being installed and opening up serious security holes
on
their customers' PCs.

I was out of town for the holiday resently and bought a cdvid from a
band.
Up
to this point my libary was working fine after that it displays signs
of
the
database being corrupted. I have deleted the files as described in
the
self
help. I have even gone as far as rolling back the media player and
reinstalling it. But to no avail. I can still play music but i can't
upload
my libary. Any help?
