What attributes did you change exactly? I tried reapplying security
settings and removing read-only attributes, but that doesn't seem to
work either.
Thanks.

I did a batch update on the file and directory attributes and believe it or
not WMP was able to import / recognize all MP3's.

I have the exact same problem here with WMP11.
Bunch of music purchased on emusic residing in d:\emusic
I added that folder as a watch folder but many songs aren't found. If I
manually add a specific subfolder as a watch folder, then it does find
the "missing" songs. They are all mp3s, properly tagged with id3v1 and
v2, and all playable.

Add. Info:
I did reset/rename/delete the WMP database folder and the database file and
tried the proces from scratch, without result so far.

Missing files are all regular MP3's with ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags.
Path names are correct.
My settings:
I have an external 250GB Lacie Harddisk G:
My watch/search path in WMP for music files = G:\MY MUSIC
When I add a specific path name to the library search path WMP does find the
Mp3's
located in that directory and which was originally not found
e.g. G:\MY MUSIC\Rolling Stones\Sticky Fingers
Directories are not hidden
The path search setting G:\MY MUSIC is for Real Player sufficient to find
all MP3's

Is there any commonality to the missing files? If you reset/rename the WMP
database folder (not just the database file) ala--

, does that fix you up?

Yes, when I click on a non found file, it plays correctly in WMP

I recently installed WMP Rel 11.
When I add the path where my MP3 songs are stored and let WMP search
for
Mp3's to be imported in the library, the result is 2643 songs imported.
When I do the same procedure with Real Player V 10.5 , I get a result
for
the same search path of 3984 songs imported in the library.
Why doesn't Windows Media Player recognize all MP3's ?
Is there a relation to tha file tagging format.
Any help would be much aprreciated !
