I've seen quite a few posts asking about CD-Text in Media Player. It
certainly seems like there's enough demand, so is there any particular reason
the functionality wasn't included?
I was hoping to be able to start using Media Player to burn CDs; since my
library is already there it would be a lot easier. However, I'll have to keep
using other software.
WMP 10 and WMP 11 do not support CD Text for either reading (from Audio CDs
which have CD Text), or for burning Audio CDs with CD Text included.
iTunes 7 does support burning Audio CDs with CD Text included, it is not
clear (indeed it is doubtful) that it reads CD Text from CDs (it normally
uses GraceNote CDDB).
Depending on the format your music is in you could add it to iTunes and get
it to burn disks for you. iTunes for Windows can import unprotected WMA
tracks for example.
