Looking for some help please... I need to download Windows Media Connect, but
it seems to me that the only way to get it is by downloading Media Player 11.
However, when I try to download Media Player 11, I am not allowed because I
have Windows XP Media Center 2004. Medial Player 11 requires Media Center
2005.

Yep.

Is there a way I can get Windows Media Connect other than by downloading
Media Player 11?

Yep. Have a look over the readme / FAQ first
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/devices/wmconnect/

Then you can directly download if from here :
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/e/5/9e5dee3c-4338-4094-9823-592938dd058a/wmcsetup.exe

*** BE QUICK*** because the file itself might be removed soon, without
explanation : I'd have suggested the Microsoft pages. However the
download was pulled sometime between the 7th November and now. It was
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=e93a0ba1-1206-4df5-a3e7-f076691261ef&displaylang=en

Google still has the page in the cache
http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache:GpYZk0WEK1kJ:www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx%3Ffamilyid%3De93a0ba1-1206-4df5-a3e7-f076691261ef+&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=6

But the real page says "The download you requested is unavailable. If
you continue to see this message when trying to access this download,
go to the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home
page." - of course, searching for this file leads to no results.
