Where did you get this MPEG from? It sounds like the file is potentially
improperly authored/rejoined.

Ever since I've installed WMP 10, I have had an issue playing back MPEG
files. Here's what happens:
The progress bar will move very quickly from left to right, and when it
hits
the right side the video playback will stop. The sound, on the other
hand,
continues. As a result, I have only seen a very short portion of the
entire
video. If I click anywhere on the progress bar, the video will continue
to
play from some unknown point but only till that progress bar hits the
right
side, again. Then, it stops and the sound continues, again. If I keep
doing
this, it will always continue to play from some later point, but only for
a
few seconds... gosh I hope I'm explaining this clearly. It's very
confusing.
Here's some troubleshooting clues that might help --
1) When I play these videos on Windows Media Player 10 or 11 (just
installed
11), Windows Media Centre, or RealPlayer, the same thing happens. When I
play them on my old laptop, which still has WMP 9, it plays just fine. It
also plays fine on my new computer with my WINDVD software.
2) I have used GSPOT to check the codec, and it is MPEG1.
3) I have no problem with .wmv files.
Any ideas?
