Actually, the problem is with the RTM version. I had hoped it would have
been
fixed in RTM but it is not. Drag and drop in library tree view is not
available in the actual final release version. CNet's review is valid.

The guys reviewing beta *ONE*. Drag and drop should work fine in the

final release version.
I think it's pretty nonsensical that CNet's review system treats beta
reviews as actual final product reviews. =\

I think that an astonishing deficiency with Windows Media Player 11 is
that
they removed the drag and drop functionality from the tag editor
library
view. I thought this was the single most redeeming feature of Windows
Media
Player 10 and the one feature that made is a serious contender in the
field.
Without that feature, it's really a useless music player\organizer for
anyone
with a large music collection.
I really am at a loss to understand why Microsoft chose to remove this
feature, but without it, I'd have to give Windows Media Player 11 two
thumbs
down.

" I used to drag and drop with in the library view to organize
everything.
Say you wanted to change the genre or add multiple genres. Before U
could
expand the genre tree and drag files over upon which U were prompted to
add
or replace the genre. NO longer can U do this in WMP 11. Yes it can be
done
via the tag editor, but it is not as clean. But where it really becomes
a
pain is when you have files and go to find album info. You used to be
able
to
drag files to an album that was incomplete in WMP 10, update and boom
all
files would be associate with that album. No more, now U have to stay
in
the
find info wizard and click over and over again on the album for each
track.
This is problematic, cause sometimes the wizard finds two separate
albums,
ie the UK version and the US version. This would split the album across
two
album covers. And to fix that w/o drag and drop is a major pain."
