You can either uninstall those programs from under Control Panel /Add-Remove
Programs or prevent them loading at start time, either by removing them from
the Startup folder or removing appropriate entries using MSCONFIG program.
I am not sure why you are choosing to load the startup group post-burn if
it's for software you don't use.
Note, do not uninstall DVD software that may prevent you from playing DVDs
in Windows Media Player.

My PC OS is Win Home XP SP2. I am happy and satisfied with WMP
v.11.0.5358.4827. I use WMP v. 11 software exclusively. My question is
may
I uninstall all "other" non MS player software such as Roxio Easy Media
Creator 7 Basic VCD Edition? Reason for this question is that WMP v.11
will
not burn as long as a startup item from the other media software loads
when I
boot. I have to deselect startup items from the other software before WMP
will recognize CD Writable Media and then burn. Then, after a burn, I
have
to load the startup group again. Since I don't use the other media
software
anymore, may I just remove it from my PC? Thanks.
