Re: How do I uninstall Windows Media Player

Given the green screen issue and the fact that it shows up properly when you
clip it (mouse drawing over the top), it sounds like it would be really
worth your time to try the suggestion at the #vdriver link I suggested last
time. The clipping issue is a pretty solid indication of video card driver
problems.

Up to date cards and up to date drivers aren't actually a guarantee of
awesomeness - there are still buggy drivers out there, which is why it's
usually worth the time to try troubleshooting those.

Hi Zachd

Thank you for your response. The message I get from add
remove
programs is that it cannot be unistalled as my system is
using
some of the files. I have shut down my computer and as soon
as
I return after it boots up I go back and try to uninstall it
again and I get the same message so have no idea what to try
next. My video card is up to date I already checked that
and
I have had version 10 since it came out but have only started
to view movies thru it. It did work for a while but then
the
green screen appeared and it has not worked since. Some of
the
wmv extensions when u move the cursor over them you catch a
glimpse of the clip then it disappears and all you see is the
green screen again.

Thank you very much for trying to help. :(

What exact message do you get from Add/Remove Programs? If you installed
WMP10 a while ago, it may not be possible to remove it any longer -
moving
forward to v11 may be your only upgrade/downgrade path right now.

Does tweaking video card driver settings help?
