Zach,
firstly, THANKS for the help.
Here are the lines in the log file that contain ERROR:
ERROR: Reg Parser: Missing required component attribute 'TYPE'.
ERROR: Reg Parser: Failed to add component from reg. Result: 0x80004005.
Failed to Add Component codec_wmadmo to Uninstall.
As for the event log, here are the two crashes:
Faulting application firefox.exe, version 1.8.20060.25382, faulting module
wmvcore.dll, version 9.0.0.3250, fault address 0x000dcf42.
Windows cannot access the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\wmvcore.dll for one of
the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the
disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this
computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program Windows Media
Playback/Authoring DLL because of this error.
Program: Windows Media Playback/Authoring DLL
File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wmvcore.dll
Does this mean that if I copy over a new wmvcore.dll, then I'll be able to
play videos in Firefox or IE7?
And do you know why I can't install WMP11?
Zach, seriously, I'll owe you big if you can help me with this!

I need serious help!
When I try to play a streamed video from a webpage, my browser (and
computer) crash. The video that causes the crash seems to Media Player
format.
I was pretty sure it was related to Media Player 10, so I tried to install
Media Player 11. The install won't complete - it always gets to the end,
and
then says that it can't be completed, and that I should try again.
I think it might be related to a .DLL file problem (one of the many error
messages I get says this).
Is there anyone out there that knows anything about this problem? I need
help!
