Strange Video Problem.

I am running Windows XP Media Center 2005 on a home built using a Sempron 64 bit 2800+ CPU one GB of ram an ATI 9600 video card with a Creative Labs 5.1 Live sound card.

The video is displayed on an Acer 19" LCD screen that runs at 1280x1024 for optimum results. However, the resolution color depth keeps changing to 8 bit color from 32 bit after shutdown. The depth will change back manually in display settings but it reverts to the 8 bit color depth setting again on shut down.

Do I need a separate .inf file even though Windows uses the one built in to the OS?

TIA for any ideas or recommendations.
