Ok I found a program called "Dependancy Walker" I hope that is what you meant
to download.

It gives me the following:

Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing
export function in a delay-load dependent module.

MPR.DLL - WNetRestoreConnectionA

Where exactly is depends.exe? I cannot find any file like that on my
computer. Is the utility available to download somewhere?

Thanks,

That's error "ERROR_MOD_NOT_FOUND", likely indicating an import issue.

If you load the file into depends.exe or other dll-load checking utility,
what imports does it say are missing on your system?

Hi, I am having a few problems installing Windows Media Encoder 9 series.
When installing, I get the following two errors at which point I can
choose
"retry" or "ignore". (I downloaded the file from multiple sources with
same
errors)

Module C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder\WMdevctl.dll
failed
to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

Module C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder\WMesrcwp.dll
failed
to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

If I choose to ignore, the installation continues and finishes. When I
load
up the encoder and try to convert an .AVI to .WMV, it says it doesn't work
to
choose another file. It doesn't recognize .AVI files when I do a "browse"
to
search for one.

I had Windows Media Encoder 9 series installed on this computer before,
but
I reformatted the computer just days ago, so I don't know if thats a
problem?

If I use the installation file again, and repair the program, the same two
errors come up.

Does anyone know whats wrong?,Thanks

James
