I have a gateway laptop hooked up to a docking station. With that docking
station, I have an Acer LCD monitor that is hooked up while I am in the
office. For some reason when I open a windows media video file, the video
file will not play on the LCD monitor but will on the laptop. Windows
media
player opens on the LCD monitor but the video does show up. Therefore
whenever, I want to watch a video I must open the laptop screen to see the
video since it won't show on the external display.
I have hooked the monitor up to another laptop and the videos play fine on
both the laptop and LCD monitor. Has anyone ever had an issue where the
video will not show on the screen? Is there some type of setting causing
this?
If you temporarily change overlays :
Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Advanced
Either turn off overlays (or high quality mode) or turn off the video
mixing renderer - does it work on the external screen then ?
