What file format is the movie? What's an URL that shows this?

Whenever I try to open a movie clip from a web site I get the error
message...
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the
Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located a removable
storage
card, insert the storage card."
Well, obviously I am connected to the internet because I'm on the web site
trying to play the video clip. Any ideas? I'm using wmp 10 and am using
windows xp pro. Also, there are 2 users set up on this machine, and the
other user has no problem playing video clips on web sites. This leads me
to
believe that there is a setting specific to the user that is not allowing
video clips to be played.
Finally, all other aspects of wmp seem to work fine. I can play video
clips
that are saved on my computer, I can play music and movies, and dvds as
well.
It just seems to be the video clips that are on web sites that are giving
me
grief.
Thanks in advance,
CHRIS
